The mere presence of the sun brings all the activity in the world. In the same way, your mere presence is a service, is the goal. There is no gain, no loss, no purpose, no defeat.

..And I wondered.
Every atom in the universe is related to another.. and there is so much detailed macro-intelligence in every seemingly "automatic" occurrence in the world.
Well, there are few who live their little lives without realizing the need to be of assitance to some one, nor realizing this divine intelligence in every cell of the universe. Then there are people who know and are doing a lot of good work; with or without the frills. And finally there are people who are ever-ready to be of assitance. Their very attitude enlivens and energises one so much! Every learned civilization talks about this..being at beckon call is also a service in its own..
So to say, a piece of silence is also music when interjected between the right syllables of rhythm or tune.. And probably thats what John Milton wanted to say, when he said "They also serve, who only stand and wait"

machan anubhava nyanam is reqd...till then we can only babble o babble....when there is anubhavam there will be silence...well hopefully...that how do I know sir...
ReplyDeletetrue.. concepts can impede spiritual growth..
ReplyDelete"Nobody's head aches when he comforts another."
ReplyDeleteLoved the concept. My only issue with those who only "stand and wait" arises when they continue to do that for way to long. Th gods the spirits the purpose the meaning the value the ability....everything's constantly around and it's too bad to "stand and wait"...
Thank you for your accentuating comment
ReplyDeleteWell an idea like that cant be interpreted as negligence isnt it? The very point i am trying to make is for a person who is in that space of satva.. yearning to be of assitance... and my view point is that for such a person, the opportunity will come rushing to him, and so to say to stand and wait is not wanting to let nature take its course..it is in fact dynamic inaction..that assistance is not necessarily in proactivity, or motion..and thats why the tree which just stands there and says, i am all yours whenever you want, is the highest epitome of service..in your personal context, grief is a momentary blip which will look too insignificant if your scale of examination includes the society around you..
